Meghalaya EMRI workers to get 6% enhancement in their present salary based on seniority

Shillong, Feb 07: President of Meghalaya EMRI Workers Union (MEMRIWU) Roipar Kharraswai informed that minister in-charge of health Ampareen Lyngdoh has assured to enhance 6% of their present salary based on seniority.

Speaking to media persons, Kharaswai informed that on 29 January they had met the managing director of National Health Mission wherein the MD could not give any assurance on their demands.

Kharraswai said that again on 5 February they had another meeting with the MD of NHM and in the meeting it was decided to enhance the salary of the 108 employees minimum 6% from the present salary base on seniority but since the NHM is not capable to enhance hence they were told to meet minister in-charge of health for assurance.

“In the meeting today, the minister in-charge of health has agreed to enhance 6% enhance 6% of their present salary based on seniority and this process will be completed by March 2024 and the enhancement will start from April 2024” said Kharraswai.

Kharraswai informed that apart from the salary, the union had taken up discussion with the minister in-charge on the lack of other benefits like EF, leaves, health and accidental insurance and others.

He added that there are more than 300 employees in EMRI 108 services and that the NHM is only able to provide monthly salary and not other benefits to its employees.

“We have discussed these issues with the minister in-charge and she has assured the union that she will look into the matter with” he added.
