Meghalaya Govt directed them to repair NH-6 immediately: Dhar

Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Transport Sniawbhalang Dhar on Tuesday said he has taken up with the chief minister Conrad K Sangma on the issue concerning the dilapidated condition of the National Highway-6.

Speaking to reporters, Dhar said, “Many people have come to me (complaining about the condition of the NH-6) and I have also apprised the chief minister on the issue.”

He has also discussed the issue with the deputy chief minister in-charge PWD (Roads) Prestone Tynsong on the need to immediately repair the road.

“We are aware that the road condition is very bad. Chief minister and deputy CM already had a talk with the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) people and directed them to repair the NH-6 immediately so that vehicles are able to ply on the road,” Dhar said.

Admitting that NHAI is collecting toll and yet the condition of the NH-6 is in a deplorable condition, Dhar said, “That is why, we have asked them to do it immediately as our people are crying over the bad condition of the NH-6.”
