Cabinet Minister Kyrmen Shylla, on Wednesday, said the state Government will examine the matter related to setting up of Passport Seva Kendra in Tura.
The minister has assured to take up the matter with the centre after due consultation with the stakeholders and the officers.
Talking to reporters, Shylla said, “We will examine it for sure(about setting up of passport seva Kendra), we will discuss this with the stakeholders and officers then we will see what can be done. “
With people from the Garo Hills region of Meghalaya are facing tremendous trouble while making passport as Guwahati seems to be nearer than Shillong, the Minister incharge of passport said, “We can try for this, as of now, we haven’t discussed yet when it comes to this. We can try to find out what are the loopholes and what still can be done to help the people.”
He, however, maintained that since no proposal in this regard has reached the Government, no decision is yet taken.
“….. if required in the near future we will try to put a proposal with the Ministry because it has to be with the central ministry, we can proceed whichever is required to serve the people of our state to ease them , we will try,” he added.
