Along with the rest of the World, Meghalaya too on Monday joined the celebration of the consecration of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya.
Ram Puja was organised in various temples throughout the state.
There is a wave of excitement and devotion among Hindu communities. Parts of Shillong have been decked up with posters, flags of Lord Ram ahead of ‘Pran Pratishtha’ in Ayodhya.
The chanting of ‘Jai Shree Ram’ reverberates as devotees in large numbers partook in the celebration. Vehicles including two wheelers in Shillong town were seen carrying saffron flags featuring Lord Ram.
BJP legislator and cabinet Minister AL Hek and BJP MLA from South Shillong constituency also visited various puja pandals where the Ram puja was held.
Dr BDR Tiwari, Commissioner & Secretary to the Governor visited Durga Mandir at Garikhana Shillong where the consecration of Ram Temple was celebrated on Monday.
