Meghalaya on Saturday recorded yet another highest single-day recovery of 298 COVID-19 patients, pushing the total number of recoveries to 6,034, while 101 new cases were registered to bring the total active case to 2,295 in the State.
Out of the 298 new recoveries, 223 patients have recovered in East Khasi Hills district, 55 in Ri-Bhoi district, 18 in West Garo Hills district, one each in East Jaintia Hills and West Jaintia Hills.
The new cases include 56 from East Khasi Hills, 30 from West Khasi hills, 11 from West Garo Hills, 02 from Ribhoi, one each from South West Garo Hills and South West Khasi Hills.
With this total number of active cases in East Khasi hills stands at 1,554, followed by Rib hoi 276, West Garo Hills 176, West Khasi Hills 49, South West Khasi Hills 21, West Jaintia hills 83 and East Jaintia hills 16, South West Garo Hills 22, South Garo Hills 40, East Garo Hills 32 and North Garo Hills 26.
The total number of persons tested positive so far is 8,404 while 75 succumb to the infection.
Till date, swab samples of 1,85,467 persons have been tested of which 1,77,063 were found negative. EOM
