In a significant boost to Meghalaya TMC in the plain belt of Garo Hills, a Block Level Event was held in Phulbari, West Garo Hills amplifying the exponential growth of the party.
A massive crowd of more than 10,000 people thronged the Shyamnagar ground in Phulbari since the morning hours to bolster the robust strength of the party.
The monumental event comes less than a week the Meghalaya TMC got a shot in the arm with the induction of the sitting legislator of Phulbari S.G. Esmatur Mominin into the party fold.
After joining the party, he ushered to show the right path toward the holistic development of the constituency under the guidance of Dr. Mukul Sangma.
Taking a jibe at the inept Conrad Sangma-led MDA government for failing the people, Trinamool
Congress Legislature Party Leader and Leader of Opposition, Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, Dr. Mukul Sangma said, “Many false promises have been made before the elections and the realities get exposed when they are in power. In the past five years, the people of Meghalaya have suffered immeasurably due to the NPP-led MDA government. Our teachers, students, youth, poor and other groups have been deprived of many things. In the name of the border problem, the lands of the villagers have been snatched away. We have been made victims.”
Dr. Mukul Sangma also affirmed to sweep the upcoming elections and ensure unparalleled development. He remarked, “We have announced candidates for 52 constituencies. We have come to Phulbari only after officially announcing the candidate name for your constituency. Out of the 24 seats in Garo Hills, Meghalaya TMC is flourishing in 16 seats. We assure you that we will form the government as we believe it is our responsibility to
work for the welfare and development of all.”
Meghalaya TMC MLA and candidate from Phulbari S.G. Esmatur Mominin lambasted the CM over the ‘deliberate ignorance’ towards minorities. He said, “In the last 5 years, I have tried to help everyone in my constituency irrespective of their economic status. I have never asked anyone to return home empty-handed. Today I’m with Meghalaya TMC and with Dr. Mukul Sangma. You all should be aware of what he has done for us. It is extremely
unfortunate to know that CM Conrad Sangma has not done anything for the minority communities. I have decided to take things up and accomplish this myself.”
While this high-voltage block event saw people celebrating the presence of Meghalaya TMC, the extensive support also heralded the fall of the dwindling NPP-led MDA government in the plain belt of Garo Hills, sending a reverberating message of unwavering faith bestowed by the people upon Meghalaya TMC.
With each passing day, Meghalaya TMC is becoming an indispensable party voicing the rights
and aspirations of the people of Meghalaya. Today, the party launched the official campaign
song in both Khasi and Garo languages. The songs resonate with the hopes and aspirations of
the beloved people of the state. They also emphasize that there is always hope ahead of the
darkness, with Meghalaya TMC etched in the hearts of millions. Furthermore, the Phulbari event
also witnessed people jumping to their feet with exhilaration while the campaign song was
played at the start of the historic event.
