Meghalaya TMC strengthens base; form Mahila Block Committees in Tura

Meghalaya TMC has been effectively expanding its base in the state, with the recent formation of the Mahila Block Committees in North and South Tura on Tuesday.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Selma D Shira, President of Meghalaya Pradesh Mahila Trinamool Congress Committee, said, “I wholeheartedly thank all the mothers who have turned up in unity, despite having significant works. TMC is the party that has got strong frontal wings, and the Mahila wing of the party has been extremely enthusiastic.”

Meghalaya TMC West Garo Hills District Convenor Richard Mrong Marak, who participated in the event said, “The response we are receiving all over the state is overwhelming. Women from across the state have been showering their support for TMC, as they know that it is the only credible alternative.”

Talking about the betrayal of the ruling dispensation, the TMC leader explained how the incumbent NPP-led MDA government backstabbed the people and belittled their mandate. “Pressing issues like unemployment and misgovernance stand at peak rendering people impoverished. The aspirations of women and youth are trampled under the tragic rule of CM Conrad Sangma in the last four-and-a-half years”, he mentioned.

Taking a jibe at CM Conrad Sangma for trying to buy the people of Meghalaya, he remarked, “Dr. Mukul Sangma had launched social welfare programs to develop human capital development, but the sitting CM is only trying to buy people before the elections.”

Meghalaya TMC extends its gratitude to the elected committee members and urges them to work for the welfare of the women of Meghalaya to usher in a new dawn in the state.
