The Government of Meghalaya in collaboration with the Indian Chamber of Commerce is organizing the 7th ACT EAST BUSINESS SHOW, set to take place from 25 to 27 March 2025 at the State Convention Centre in Shillong. This flagship event aims to foster stronger economic and trade relations between BBIN and ASEAN nations, focusing on key sectors such as technology, agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism. The inaugural session on 25 March will be addressed by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and attended by senior government officials from the Government of India and high-ranking diplomats, bringing together prominent leaders, policymakers, and industry experts. The event will feature Meghalaya as an ideal investment destination, with a focused exhibition displaying potential investment avenues and business synergies.
Under the leadership of the Chief Minister, Meghalaya is rapidly transforming into a premier investment destination, backed by progressive policies, robust infrastructural development, and a proactive governance framework. The state is dedicated to fostering a dynamic business ecosystem that encourages entrepreneurship, facilitates seamless investments, and enhances regional and international trade partnerships. With a strong emphasis on sustainable growth, innovation, and economic diversification, Meghalaya is poised to unlock new opportunities across key sectors, reinforcing its position as a strategic gateway for trade and investment in the region.
Diplomats from the Philippines, Germany, Indonesia, Cambodia, UAE, Japan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, and many more have confirmed their participation in the event along with business delegates from their respective countries, while the Indian business community will also participate as prospective investors. The event will focus on three sessions: “Empowering Growth Through Technology & Innovation In Meghalaya” featuring discussions on IT investments, emerging technologies like AI, Block chain, and an Investor Connect session linking investors with Meghalaya-based startups; “Making North East India Export Hub of Agriculture, Livestock, Food Processing and Manufacturing” which will explore the region as an export hub with insights from industry leaders and policymakers on export promotion, trade facilitation, and government initiatives; and “North East India Travel, Tourism & Hospitality” which will spotlight North-East India’s tourism potential by emphasizing digital innovation, sustainable tourism, and public-private partnerships to promote eco-tourism, adventure tourism, and medical tourism. The event will conclude with the Valedictory Session: “Meghalaya – Future Roadmap,” outlining strategies for sustainable economic growth and regional cooperation.
Over the three days, various B2B and B2G meetings, matchmaking sessions, and networking opportunities will benefit the business fraternity, exporters, startups, FPOs, and FPCs of Meghalaya. This event is set to be a significant step forward in the economic development of the state by facilitating investment opportunities and business collaborations.
