Meghalaya to lift odd even number system for public transport services.

As a major relief to the people of the state and the commercial transporters, Meghalaya Government decided to remove odd-even restrictions for public transports, even though the same will not be applicable with regard to Private transport.
As the Coronavirus cases in the state have drastically come down, the state government has reviewed the prevailing restrictions imposed after the need was felt for further relaxation.
Addressing Media, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said, “The public transport as far as the Shillong city is concern the previous order which was issued by the transport department on odd-even rotational basis today we decided to withdraw this and public transport will no longer be restricted hundred percent will be allowed to be on the road with immediate effect.”
“As far as the private transportation is concerned, the odd-even number will still continue till further order,” Tynsong added.
He, however, said that the night curfew will not be withdrawn as 11 PM to 5 am night curfew will continue till further order.
Asked, the Deputy Chief Minister said that no relaxation has been made in interstate movement as the people entering the state have to be tested while the test will continue to be chargeable.
