Meghalaya’s 76-year-old distance running sensation Kmoin Wahlang met Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Thursday at his office at Meghalaya secretariat.

 

Wahlang  has been selected to join the Indian athletics team for the prestigious 13th Pan Pacific Masters Games 2024 in Gold Coast, Australia.

 

Sports Minister Shakliar Warjri today accompanied popular long distance runner of the state 76-Years-Old Marathon Runner  Kmoin Wahlang, to meet Chief minister Conrad Sangma and apprise him about her upcoming Marathon race in Australia.

 

Briefing Mediapersons after meeting with the Chief minister Shakliar Wahlang will be representing India in Australia as she is taking part in Marathon which is 10 kms, 5 Kms, 3 Kms , 1 1/2 kms, 500 mtrs.

 

Kmoin Wahlang, the long distance septuagenarian superstar from Meghalaya who has captured hearts and inspired numerous people, has been invited to be part of the Indian athletics team for the 13th Pan Pacific Masters Games 2024, which will take place in Gold Coast, Australia in November.

 

In a letter from the Pan India Masters Games Federation, Wahlang was told that she was invited to join the Indian team based on her performance at an event earlier this year in Hyderabad.

 

She was thus selected to be part of the 75-plus age category to represent India in the 800m, 1500m and 3000m at the November 1-10 event in Queensland.
