Shillong, February 29, 2024: The Meghalaya Human Rights Commission (MHRC), Shillong, has issued a notice to the Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills District, Meghalaya, seeking a detailed report on the alleged assault of the President of the Riwar Mihngi Circle at Pynursla Police Station by the 2nd OC in charge of Pynursla Police Station .
The Secretary, Meghalaya Human Rights Commission informed that a 15 days deadline has been given to Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills District, Meghalaya to submit the detailed report.
“The Meghalaya Human Rights Commission (MHRC), Shillong, has taken cognizance on the complaint filed by the Central Body of the Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) signed by the President and the Secretary against the alleged assault by the 2nd OC incharge of Pynursla Police Station against the President of the Riwar Mihngi Circle at Pynursla Police Station,” the Secretary said in a statement.
“Notice has been issued to the Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills District, Meghalaya, to submit a detailed report to the Commission within 15 days,” the Statement added.
