Unknown miscreants lobbed a petrol bomb at the residence of Julie Lyngdoh at Barapather Shillong. Superintendent of Police East Khasi Hills District Sylvester Nongtnger said though Julie is not staying there but her tenants were staying.
Talking to Mediapersons, the Superintendent of Police said, “The owner of the house is one Julie Lyngdoh of Wahingdoh.”
“This morning at about 7:30 to 8 pm, some miscreants pelt stones and after that they threw one petrol bomb in the Jhalupara area that is on the roof of Julie Lyngdoh, she is not staying but the tenants are staying there.. so non-tribal people are staying,” Nongtnger said.
The SP said the miscreants, more than one in number, had come from behind the house which is a jungle area and initially they threw stones and after sometime a petrol bomb was lobbed.
Though no arrest has been made East Khasi Hills SP Sylvester Nongtnger told reporters that the incident of hurling stones and petrol bomb was reported to the police in Jhalupara police station around 7.30 am.
“During enquiry by the incharge there it’s found there was no damage, yes that petrol bomb is a blast but there was no damage. In this connection, the inquiry is still going on and we will do everything and we will leave no stone unturned and we will check it out from all our available sources,” he said.
“A case will be registered accordingly at the Lumdiengjri police station. No eye witness was there but I am sure more than one, sources said miscreants that means more than one,” the officer added.
