Meghalaya Youth Congress on Friday distributed food packets, donated protective kits masks to mark the 30th death anniversary of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi.
In Tura, the volunteers of Youth Congress distributed food at Tura Civil Hospital and Tura Christian Hospital.
While in Nongpoh, Ri Bhoi Youth Congress distributed food packets and donated protective kits at Nongpoh Civil Hospital.
The day was also observed in East Garo Hills as the youth Congress volunteers distributed Masks to the people.
In places like Riangdo, Myliem and Mawsynram AYCs also distributed food packets to patients and underprivileged people.
Urging people to wear masks and follow health protocol, Richard M. Marak,
President, Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress said, “We would also like to pass on these messages to the people of Meghalaya. Please wear a mask and observe covid protocols and keep yourself safe from Covid-19.”
Urging people not to fall prey to the fake news being circulated on social Media, Marak said, “Do not believe everything you see or hear on social media as there is a lot of fake news being circulated.”
Today, as we fight the Covid-19 pandemic, Rajiv Gandhi’s visionary Universal Immunization Programme has laid the foundations for vaccination.
Further, the youth Congress leader from Meghalaya asked people to vaccinate when the turn comes.
