Asked, he said, “I am ready to implement the New Education Policy after this I am going to conduct meeting with the principals of the colleges”.

The Vice Chancellor further said that NEHU, being the implementing authority, has communicated its directives to all affiliated college principals to adhere to the NEP 2020 guidelines.

“Letter are sent to the principals of all the colleges,” he added. The VC , however, is yet to know the exact number of colleges willing and not willing to implement the new education policy.

He further said the colleges who are not willing to implement the new policy should come up with the list of hindrances and submit them to the University. While acknowledging the challenges that some colleges might face in implementing the policy immediately, he said such institutions will have the option to defer the implementation for one more academic year.

Colleges who are not prepared to implement the NEP 2020 can reach out to the authorities and provide detailed reasons for their current inability to comply.
