NPP’s national vice president, Sniawbhalang Dhar has made it clear that there would be no change in the Cabinet berth regardless of the outcome of the deferred Sohiong election and even the merger of two PDF MLAs.
Amidst the presumption that with the merger of two PDF MLAs to the NPP, one of the political partners of MDA may have to sacrifice cabinet berth, Dhar said there will not be any change in the cabinet berth allotment.
Speaking to reporters, the Deputy Chief Minister said, “No. Everything will remain as it is, the MDA 2.0 is very strong there will not be any change in cabinet.”
Dhar further said that he would want the PDF MLAs to join the NPP at the earliest.
“I am not privy to how far the discussion of the proposed merger has reached. The two PDF MLAs can give more insight to this proposed move,” Dhar said when asked if he was instrumental in bringing the PDF to the path of negotiation of a possible merger.
Meanwhile, Dhar has claimed that the NPP is leading in the Sohiong constituency and is confident to win the election.
