The ruling National People’s Party (NPP) National President Conrad K Sangma will stake claim for the Government formation on Friday.
NPP emerged as the single-largest party in the state on Thursday, clinching 26 seats out of the 59 constituencies. After receiving a letter of support from the State BJP President Ernest Mawrie, Sangma sought an appointment with the Governor to stake claim.
Meanwhile, it is also leant that the NPP is trying to get the support of other minor parties like PDF and HSPDP. Although the political parties are yet to make any commitment, the structure of the new Government is already formulated.
