National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), Meghalaya State unit met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Delhi and appraised him on the demand for the inclusion of Khasi and Garo language in the 8th schedule.
The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), is the students’ wing of Congress.
Informing about this, Bansharailang Pyngrope, President NSUI Meghalaya said, “During the program, the state unit’s delegation interacted with various congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi and expressed the people of state’s desire to have the Khasi and Garo language enshrined in the 8th Schedule of the Indian Constitution.”
Meanwhile, assuring the student delegation, Gandhi said that this desire of the people will be fulfilled, but it is also essential that the people also spread the language and write more in the local language.
A delegation of National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), Meghalaya State unit recently attended the two day National Executive Meet, 2021 of the NSUI held in Delhi on Saturday and Sunday.
The state level delegation was represented by President Bansharailang Pyngrope, Vice President Changkam Sangma and General Secretaries, Mewan Pariat and Arkin Warjri.
Bansharailang Pyngrope, President NSUI Meghalaya said, “This delegation is one of the few from the NSUI state executive of the past and present to have represented Meghalaya in a National Conference.”
