Talking to the media, the Education Minister said, “For those affected students in view of the centres allotted in Ranchi and other parts of the country will be given another opportunity to appear for the CUET examination.”
He also requested students not to worry and wait for the rescheduled examination.
Meanwhile, Joint Secretary in-charge Education department D Lyngdoh on Thursday said, “The matter relating to CUET 2023 examination have been taken up with the Ministry of Education and the National Testing Agency, Government of India and the State Government hereby inform that opportunity will be given to those students who have missed the examinations because of the allocation of centres outside the State of Meghalaya as per the data submitted to NTA.”
Further, the Minister also said that the state government has requested the centre to set up more CUET centres in Meghalaya.
“We are also working with the Ministry of Education and the NTA to set up more CUET examination centres in the near future,” Sangma added.
Earlier, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma wrote to the Centre regarding the CUET centres allocated outside the state and sought alternate arrangements for such students.
Many students from the state were scheduled to take CUET in centres in Jharkhand, West Bengal, Assam and other parts of the country.
