Over 7 years Tura -Dalu Road far from completion; Tynsong reviews road projects

Around 7 years but the construction of the Tura-Dalu road project is far from complete. The NHIDCL was handed over the task for the construction of this project way back in 2018 when the MDA Government first took charge. Deputy Chief Minister Incharge PWD Prestone Tynsong has reviewed the project.

Talking to Mediapersons, Tynsong said  the project is facing land hurdles as the land owners are yet to give the procession of the land of around 3 Kms to the construction company.

The Deputy Chief Minister further said, he has instructed the Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills to fastrack this pending issue with the concerned land owners as well as with the district council.

“Few pending stretches on Tura Dalu Road, that again because of the land owners, they are yet to handover the procession of the land, in few stretches may be about 2.5 to 3 Km and that also we have discussed and I have given direction to the deputy Commissioner West Garo Hills to fastrack this pending issue with the concern land owners as well as with the district council,” Tynsong said.

“So that the hurdles in handing over those procession can happen immediately because now the work is on, only that stretch where we couldn’t start due to the land issue,” he added.

The Tura-Dalu road, despite being part of the NH-51, was one of the worst roads in the state.

Meanwhile, as far as Dainadubi-Darogre-Williamnagar junction road is concerned, Tynsong said the project will take off once the handing over of land is completed by the forest department for compensatory afforestation.

“So in the meeting we discussed this Dainadubi-Darugre-Williamnagar junction road which the formalities have already been completed. So we have some small issue the pending issue relating to compensatory afforestation,” the Deputy Chief Minister said.

“I am happy to inform you that even this compensatory afforestation, diversion of land is more or less in the final stage where the forest department has already identified the area for the compensatory afforestation and once it is handed over to the forest department, then the project will take off,” he added.
