PAC sub- committee gives one month time to various line departments to submit reports.

​​​The Sub Committee on Public Accounts to Garo Hills region has given one month’s time to various line departments in the state to submit its report to the committee.

After a series of weeklong marathon review meetings and site inspections, the Sub-Committee on Public Accounts Committee (Garo Hills Sector), Meghalaya Legislative Assembly headed by Zenith M Sangma holds a cumulative state level meeting at Tura circuit house.​ ​

In the state level meeting, the sub-committee has given its direction to all the concerned departments to work on the measures suggested and come back after a month.

“One month’s time has been given to various line departments in the state to submit the reports to the PAC,” the Chairman of the Sub-Committee, Zenith M Sangma said.

In the meeting, the Chairman of the Sub-Committee, Zenith M Sangma, along with other members of the Committee including MLAs — George B Lyngdoh, Rakkam A Sangma, and Lazarus Sangma — reviewed the progress of various ongoing schemes and projects in the district. The meeting started at 10:30 am and lasted till 6:30 pm.

Talking to Meghalaya News 24, the Chairman of the Sub-Committee, Zenith M Sangma said, “In the final meeting the Committee could review expenditure site and revenue sector of different line departments like Power, PWD Roads, PHE, C&RD, Food & Civil Supply, Forest & environment, Transport & Taxation.”

On the final day, the Sub-Committee on Public Accounts Committee (Garo Hills Sector), Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, also held a district-level review meeting with officials from ​various line ​​​departments of West Garo Hills as well.​​

Earlier the Sub Committee held District level meetings in NGH and SWGH including site inspections to various projects in SWGH.

“In the state level meeting many pending issues observed by the AG in the CAG report right from 2011 pertaining to several departments including the revenue sectors could be taken up. One month’s time has been given to submit the reports to the PAC,” Sangma added.​ ​  ​​ ​
