Meghalaya to launched “Parivartan-Prison to Pride” an initiative of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL on January 26.
Informing about this, Inspector General of Prisons, M Kharkrang on Friday said “We are tying up with the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd , there is a programme called Parivartan-Prison to Pride and we will be launching them probably on January 26th.”
With an aim to train prison inmates in specific sports, he said, “Where various sports activities … coaching will be given to all the inmates as per the discipline they would like to be imparted.”
“ Lot of them have come forward,” the IGP Prison added.
“Parivartan-Prison to Pride” will facilitate training in badminton, volleyball, chess, tennis, and carom across jails in the country to help improve the physical and mental well-being of the inmates. It may be mentioned that Meghalaya is putting special stress on Sporting activities among the people.
