Police detains two persons for transporting narcotic substances


West Garo Hills Police detained two persons for transporting narcotic substances on Monday.

In a press statement, Superintendent of Police, Vivekanand Singh Rathore stated that after receiving the information that some miscreants are going to transport narcotic substances from Mankachar, Assam  to Tura,  Police placed Nakas in and around strategic places near Tura town to lay the trap to catch the miscreants.

“One suspected Yamaha R15 bike bearing r/no ML-08-G-723 and it’s two occupants Rex John K Sangma r/o – Ringre Gittim, tura and Bishal Ch Marak  r/o Lower Balsarang, Tura were detained near Ghoramara, Garobadha PIC. And on search they were found in possession of 2856 Nos. of SP capsules (142.8gm tramadol Hydrochloride) and 18 no of Nitcor 10 tablets (18 gm Nitrazapem IP),” Rathore said.

A case under the NDPS act has been registered and their links are being investigated, Rathore said.
