Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Urban Affairs Sniawbhalang Dhar on Wednesday said that the state government will try to complete the process of negotiation with the Harijan Panchayat Committee (HPC) on the proposed relocation of the Sweepers’ Colony at the earliest.
He said the decision was taken at a meeting chaired by the Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Home (Police) and Chairman of the High Level Committee Prestone Tynsong.
“We will finalise the matter soon. There is some part we are still negotiating. Hopefully we will be able to complete it at the earliest,” he said.
He said in the last meeting held, the HPC had made some request of modifying the blueprint on the government’s proposal. “However that time, we are yet to examine their requests but today we had discussed their requests and after discussion we will invite them,” Dhar added.
