Rainfall triggered landslide blocks roads in South Garo Hills District

On 2nd and 3 rd July, 2024, there was a very heavy rainfall in South Garo Hills District which affected the normal lives of the general public and resulting landslides in some places in the District.

As per the reports received from the Block Development Officer of Gasuapara PWD link road from Dimapara to Ruga area was blocked at Meka Adu due to landslide on 2 nd July, 2024. And another reports received from the Executive Engineer PWD (R) and Circle Inspector cum Officer in Charge of Baghmara Sadar Police Station that there are two more road blocked at Panda village and Dikrong Village due to landslide on 2 nd July, 2024 and PWD NH road blocked at Bolsalgre near Baghmara Circuit House due to landslide on 2nd July, 2024.

 

Link Road from Dimapara to Ruga area was blocked at Meka Adu on 2/7/2024 due to landslide has already been cleared on that day itself

PWD Road from Baghmara to Chokpot was blocked due to landslide on 2/7/2024 has already been cleared on that day itself.

PWD road from Baghmara to Moheshkola was also blocked due to landslide at Panda village was also aready cleared and road is open now.

PWD NH road blocked due to landslide at Bolsalgre area near Baghmara Circuit house on 3/7/2024 and construction of subway is under progress
