Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Home (Police) Prestone Tynsong Monday said the state Government awaits the indication from the Harijan Panchayat Committee (HPC) and the leaders from the Delhi Gurudwara before fixing next date for the meeting for relocation of 342 families of Sweepers’ Colony from Them Iew Mawlong at the earliest.
Talking to Mediapersons, Tynsong said, “We have communicated; we are yet to receive the date. We are waiting for the availability of the leaders from Delhi , president and general secretary of Delhi Guruduara because they were also part of the committee.”
The next round of meeting between the state Government and the Harijan Panchayat Committee (HPC) was supposed to be held in the second week of January, however, there was a delay in holding the meeting.
“We have already indicated the time but we are yet to receive (any response from their end),” he said.
The Deputy CM said, “Once they indicated the time, we will fix accordingly but we really wanted to complete this pending issue at the earliest possible.”
Maintaining that the state Government is ready, Tynsong said the government is committed to resolve the long pending issue for relocation of 342 families of Sweepers’ Colony from Them Iew Mawlong at the earliest.
