Meghalaya BJP President Rikman G Momin will take charge on October 3rd.

Dismissing all talks of division within the state BJP, Momin told Meghalaya News 24 that his main objective is to take all party workers along as the BJP gears up for the Lok Sabha polls.

“We will work together and there is no difference among ourselves . I am having a very good relationship with our outgoing president (Mawrie) as well. So for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections we will work hard for that,” Momin said.

Asked about the charges of nepotism against the former state party chief, Momin said, “We will stand together, we will work together. Everyone will work together. There is no division within the party. Everyone is here. Our office is full these days. After I take over also I will not take any action against anyone, everything will be as it is.”

Expressing his gratitude on becoming the president of state BJP, he said, “Strengthening the party is not on a single person, you cannot depend on a single person, we have to together build the party, strengthen the party with our own party workers, so we are all together. “

He further said, though the party has only two MLAs, its vote share will increase.

“Our party stands on zero tolerance against corruption; however, on MDA 2 I have no comment on that because we are part and parcel of the Government. The government is working with us and we will check if there is any corruption,” the state BJP president said.

“We will work together and strengthen the party. The day I assume office everyone has to start working together,” he added.
