Rikman Momin appointed as new state president of Meghalaya BJP

​BJP national council member and senior member from Garo Hills Rikman Momin on Monday was appointed as the new state president of the party in Meghalaya.

The organizational appointment was issued by the party national general secretary & headquarters in-charge Arun Singh.

“BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda has appointed Rikman Momin as state president of Meghalaya BJP.

This appointment comes into immediate effect,” Singh said.

Momin has replaced former BJP state president Ernest Mawrie.

Reacting to the appointment of the new state BJP president, Senior BJP legislator and cabinet Minister AL Hek told Meghalaya News 24 that it was long overdue.

“ Its time is already over so it’s high time to have a new state BJP president, BJP is a National party, he is the president of Meghalaya and he may be from any region of the state,” Hek said.

​”It’s very nice that it has been given to Rikman Momin, he is a very senior party worker, I hope he will do a good job in strengthening the party,”  he added.
