Rozgar Mela Brings Employment Opportunities to Youth Nationwide, with 207 Appointment Letters Distributed in Meghalaya

Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles,  Pabitra Margherita, distributed 207 appointment letters as part of the Rozgar Mela in Shillong on Tuesday. The event marked a milestone in employment generation, offering positions to youth across multiple government departments, including the Railways and Department of Posts, as part of a national initiative led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

 

Prime Minister Modi, who addressed the Rozgar Mela via video conferencing, distributed over 51,000 appointment letters nationwide, reinforcing the government’s dedication to empowering youth.

Talking to Mediapersons, The Union Minister said, “I am here in Meghalaya capital Shillong and here 207 appointment letters are distributed to various candidates and being part of the event I feel great.”

 

“Today is not just an event,” remarked Minister Margherita. “It is a celebration of hope, new beginnings, and limitless possibilities. This is a day where dreams take flight, and the future of our youth shines even brighter.” He credited the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister, noting that the Rozgar Mela reflects his pursuit of Atmanirbhar Bharat, fueling India’s growth journey.

 

The Rozgar Mela, coordinated by the Department of Posts, NE Circle, Shillong, spanned 40 locations across India, facilitating recruitments in various ministries. As part of this initiative, new recruits will undergo foundational training through the ‘Karmayogi Prarambh’ online module, which includes over 1,400 e-learning courses designed to equip them with essential skills to serve and contribute effectively to a Viksit Bharat.

 

In Meghalaya, 207 appointment letters were handed out: 191 for the Department of Posts, 15 for the Railways, and 1 for NIT Meghalaya. Youth from across the Northeast, including Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura, and Assam, gathered to celebrate this milestone, showcasing the government’s commitment to employment and development in the region.

 

“This day is not about statistics, it is about you,” Margherita told the young achievers. “You are ambassadors of our government’s vision for India. Your integrity, dedication, and commitment will be the foundation of our nation’s growth, our motherland India’s growth.”

 

The Minister extended congratulations to the candidates and their families, calling the occasion a proud moment for the nation and encouraging everyone to work towards a future that is prosperous and inclusive. Reflecting on the large turnout, he said, “I am proud to see hundreds of successful youth gathered, eager to embrace their new roles. It fills me with joy to witness candidates expressing appreciation for the government’s efforts.”

 

He further noted the unprecedented scale of the Rozgar Mela, saying, “With over 51,000 appointment letters distributed, this event empowers our youth and reinforces their role as contributors to nation-building.” He commended both the youth and stakeholders in government for their dedication to advancing a Viksit Bharat, adding, “Not just as a minister but as a citizen of India, I take great pride in witnessing this progress in New India, as we march towards the path of prosperity.”

 

Prime Minister Modi, while addressing the Rozgar Mela, acknowledged the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras and extended best wishes to all. Reflecting on this year’s Diwali celebrations following the installation of Lord Shri Ram in his Ayodhya temple, the Prime Minister called it a significant moment in India’s cultural history. He underscored that the recruitment of 51,000 youth is part of the government’s ongoing commitment to providing permanent employment to young Indians.

 

Highlighting the importance of government-led job creation, the Prime Minister pointed to the expansion of infrastructure nationwide including expressways, ports, fiber networks, and new industries—as part of the administration’s focus on developing opportunities and economic growth across India.
