Saubhagya scheme


Power Minister, James K Sangma has informed the House that there have been no contractors who have surrendered and discontinued execution of the Saubhagya scheme.

Replying to a question raised by Rangsakona legislator, Zenith Sangma in the Assembly on Thursday, James said the contractors/companies awarded with infrastructural components under Saubhagya scheme (turnkey scope) include M/s Satnam Global Infra Projects Ltd, Delhi, and M/s Onycon Enterprises, Mumbai.

He said there are also more than 100 local electrical contractors and suppliers under departmental execution with infrastructural components for 436 villages under the scheme.

On the financial credentials sought in the National Institute of Technology (NIT), James said the bank guarantee for bid security is 1.0 percent of the tender value and the minimum annual turnover should not be less than Rs 100 crore and the liquid assets should not be less than Rs 25 crore.
