In two separate fire incidents, four rented houses were reduced to ashes at Mawlai Umjaiur and five rented houses at Mawbah on Tuesday.
The incident at Mawlai Umjaiur took place at 9.30 am. Sources said that the cause of the fire was suspected to be due to a short circuit. There was no casualty reported during the incident.
The rented houses belong to Manosha Ryndem, Biolet Ryndem, Ibamelaai Diengdoh and Anand Nengnong.
Meanwhile, the incident at Mawbah took place at around 6:30 pm when five rented houses were damaged by fire. Though, the cause of the fire is yet to be known, according to sources cylinder blast is suspected.
