In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024, the Deputy Commissioner (Election) & District Election Officer of East Khasi Hills District, Shillong, has issued an order directing all private and government educational institutions, including schools, colleges, and ITIs, within the Shillong Urban Areas to remain closed on April 18th, 2024.
This closure is mandated to facilitate the smooth movement of polling parties within the 1-Shillong (ST) Parliamentary Constituency. The compliance of this order will be overseen by the District School Education Officer, East Khasi Hills District, along with the respective principals, registrars, and controlling authorities of the educational institutions concerned.
