SHILLONG, JUNE 14: The SSA non-teaching staffs under the umbrella of All Meghalaya SSA Non-Teaching Staff Association (AMSSANTSA) announced to go ahead with agitational programs alleging that the minister in-charge of education failed to give assurance on their demands.
This was announced by AMSSANTSA general secretary Barikupar Mylliemngap after meeting with minister in-charge of education Rakka A Sangma.
Speaking to media persons, Mylliemngap said that following the 15 days deadline given by AMSSANTSA, minister in-charge of education had called the association for a meeting but in the meeting, the minister did not give any assurance on their demands.
“In the meeting, we have apprised the minister on our demand to enhance our salary which has remained the same for many years but the minister could not provide us with any assurance though he had assured us that he will look into the matter” said Mylliemngap.
Mylliemngap said that the AMSSANTSA will convene an emergent executive meeting of the association to take decision on how to go ahead with the agitation program once the 15 days deadline expires.
“We are not satisfied with the meeting as the minister could not provide us with proper assurance hence we will resort to other course action including hunger strike if the state government failed to respond to our demands” he added.
