The state BJP on Thursday welcomed the decision of the Centre to approve the Prime Minister’s Development Initiative for North East Region (PM-DevINE) scheme.
Under this scheme project will be undertaken with 100% Central funding. The Central BJP Government has ear-marked Rs. 6,600 Crores under this scheme to be spent in the next 4 years.
BJP State President, Ernest Mawrie expressed confidence that Meghalaya will be a major beneficiary of this scheme. He assured that the BJP led state government after the upcoming Assembly elections will ensure that a major portion of the project envisaged under this scheme are implemented in Meghalaya.
The North Eastern Region of India has gained focus only after Modi ji became the Prime Minister in 2014, and now with this new scheme, PM-DevINE, the region will experience a fresh bout of development and growth. Mawrie expressed his gratefulness to the Prime Minister and advocated that Meghalaya should make the most out of this opportunity.
