TMC’s WE Card initiative: 1000+ registrations overnight

​It seems that the ‘WE Card’, a financial inclusion programme for women empowerment has many takers in Meghalaya as this initiative of All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) received a tremendous response with over thousand people enrolling themselves in just 24 hours.

 

According to a statement issued by AITC Meghalaya, “After the launch of WE Card under the Meghalaya Financial Inclusion for Women Empowerment Scheme by AITC Chairperson Mamata Banerjee at U Soso Tham Auditorium on 13th December, the people of Meghalaya embrace the scheme wholeheartedly.”

 

The WE Card under the Meghalaya Financial Inclusion for Women Empowerment Scheme is a means to empower households through empowering women. A monthly amount of Rs. 1000/- would be credited to one woman per family. The scheme is non-discriminatory, covering housewives, single mothers, working professionals, widows, single women, and women across other professions eligible for the scheme.

 

Post the grand launch; the website tmcwecard.com has received a phenomenal response of 1000+ registrations overnight.

 

Meanwhile, informing people about this new initiative of AITC, Meghalaya TMC Vice President George B. Lyngdoh said, his party will bring a set of new promises to completely restructure the state.

 

Strengthening their base across Khasi Hills, Meghalaya TMC held a Block Level Meeting at Umsning, Ri-Bhoi today. Eminent Meghalaya TMC leaders George B Lyngdoh, James Lyngdoh, Gilbert Nongrum were present during the event.

 

Following yesterday’s grand launch of the Meghalaya Financial Inclusion for Women Empowerment scheme, Meghalaya TMC Vice President George B. Lyngdoh addressed an enthusiastic crowd, “The incoming government will adopt new perspectives. We have come up with a scheme through which we will contribute Rs. 1,000 monthly and Rs. 12,000 to every household when we are voted to power.”

 

The Block Level event at Umsning, Ri-Bhoi was a success confirming Meghalaya TMC’s increasing presence in the state.
