Two 100 bedded Prefab Corona care centres to come up in Shillong, Tura

With the urgency for the development of health infrastructure in the state, Meghalaya Government has decided to construct two Pre Fab buildings of Corona Care facilities in Shillong and Tura.
Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong both these Corona Care facilities will have a capacity of 100 beds each.
“Government has decided to create these corona health facilities in the state by the Prefab construction taking into consideration the urgency and the challenges that we have in the state,” Tynsong said.
He further said the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) has sanctioned Rs 6.7 Cr for the construction of the Corona health care facilities in the State.
“Government of India through DoNER Ministry has provided us 6.7 crores for creating such corona health facilities in the state and we decided two places will be establishing one is in Shillong and the other one is in Tura,” the deputy Chief Minister said.
It may be mentioned that the state does not have any designated COVID 19 hospital as the beds in the city hospitals is nearing saturation.
