Two time MLA & NPP spokesperson Marcuise N Marak questions former CM Dr. Mukul Sangma’s understanding of how central schemes work.

Making a counter-attack on former Chief Minister and leader of opposition Dr. Mukul Sangma, NPP spokesperson and MLA, Marcuise N Marak said  chief minister Conrad K Sangma actually had to school the leader of the opposition to understand how central schemes work because clearly, he lacks that understanding.

The National People’s Party (NPP) MLA said the Leader of Opposition Dr. Mukul Sangma’s accusation of a ‘modus operandi’ adopted by the MDA government in the implementation of the Saubhagya scheme is an assumption arising from years of twisted experiences.

“It is again evident that he (Mukul) experiences regret that his government could not do what the MDA government has completed so far. In fact, we know that due approvals and procedures have been followed as per law with regards to tendering and awarding of contracts, etc,” NPP spokesperson, Marcuise N Marak told reporters on Saturday.

Stating that it (allegation) is a reaction out of fear of being politically irrelevant, whether in Delhi or here in Meghalaya, Marak said, “We see this as a part of the Congress’ fading legacy and with a leader like him at the helm of affairs, that day is not too far when we will see the Congress fading into the pages of history.”

On Friday, Mukul Sangma had alleged that the predetermined selected bidders – M/s Satnam Global Infra Projects Ltd, Delhi, and M/s Onycon Enterprises, Mumbai – had quoted the rates above the approved schedule of rate (SoR) for the purchase of 9.5 meters and 8 meters of galvanized steel tubular poles.

The package for Khasi-Jaintia Hills (Eastern region) was awarded to Satnam company while the package for Garo Hills (Western region) to Onycon company.
