UDP to Stay Away from Gambegre Bye-Election, Cites Limited Presence in Garo Hills

The United Democratic Party (UDP) in Meghalaya has announced its decision to stay away from the upcoming Gambegre bye-election scheduled for November 13. UDP leader Paul Lyngdoh confirmed the decision, explaining the party’s limited presence in the region.

“We are staying away from the bye polls, meaning we have nothing to do with the bye polls at all, and our presence in the Garo Hills is still very limited and therefore, it makes no sense for us to be part of this bye election process,” Lyngdoh stated.
