As the battle for Lok Sabha is getting nearer, Rajya Sabha MP and former Meghalaya NPP chief Dr. W R Kharlukhi has all praise for Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President and Member of Parliament from Shillong Parliamentary seat Vincent H Pala.
Talking to Meghalaya News 24 in Shillong, Kharlukhi said Pala is the most popular and well-known person and every MP knows him.
“Frankly speaking in parliament, especially in the central hall, I think he is the most popular and well-known person. Everybody knew him, every MP in India knew him,” the Rajya Sabha MP said.
Talking about raising the issue about the inclusion of Khasi and Garo languages in the 8th schedule in the parliament, the former NPP Meghalaya President said along with him and Tura MP Agatha K Sangma, Shillong MP Vincent H pala too raised the issue.
“No Government has passed a resolution in the Assembly and the NPP under its leadership has passed a resolution in the Assembly. I raised this issue, Agatha raised this issue and even Pala raised this issue in the parliament, this is how far we could go,”he said while mentioning about the initiatives of the NPP led MDA government in this regard.
Asked, he said the party is ready to fight and snatch the Shillong parliamentary seat from Congress.
“We will fight and snatch the seat,”the NPP leader said.
