UDP leader Paul Lyngdoh on Wednesday said his party is firm in its commitment that unity in diversity as a fundamental belief of India should stand and reign supreme.
Speaking to reporters, the cabinet minister said, “United in diversity the implication is very clear. We are diverse and united.”
He said the party has already organized an inter-college debate on the UCC. He informed that following the debate, the party will come up with a memorandum and will submit it to the law commission.
Lyngdoh, who is also MDC of Jaiaw, said that the KHADC along with the two others ADCs – JHADC and GHADC have already adopted a resolution last year to oppose the UCC.
