Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Node Meghalaya, celebrated the World Environment Day 2023 with the intention and theme of “Cleanliness drive: an approach for Solution to Plastic Pollution.” Campus clinginess along with saplings plantation done with the initiative of greener and cleaner institutional campus. IBSD and its staff carry out cleanliness drive and plant plantation activities at different occasions through its various programs.
The activities of sensitizing the people towards cleaner environment and plastic free world supported by the guidance and initiative of the Director, IBSD, Prof. Pulok K. Mukherjee to promote cleaner environment and awareness.
During the program Dr. Sushil Chaudhary, Dr. Bhaskar Das, Dr. Evanylla Kharlyngdoh. Dr. Neeta Pathaw and Dr. Sunil S. Thorat expressed their views emphasising need and relevance of celebrating such days. IBSD head office at Imphal, regional centre at Gangtok and the two nodes, each at Shillong and Aizawl are organising such activities to inculcate cleaner environment approach among mases towards sustainable utilization of ecosystem services.
