Chief minister Conrad Sangma said the Government is looking for an Expert Committee which is balanced as well as neutral in nature to review the reservation policy.
Talking to reporters, the Chief Minister said few names have already come up while the Government is looking for some more names.
“Chief Secretary has already briefed me on certain names that are already coming up obviously we want a very good panel of names so that we are able to come up with a good committee, a committee that will be balanced and at the same time a committee that will be neutral in nature, independent in nature and obviously effective and be very qualified so that proper report can be brought out,” the Chief Minister said.
The Expert committee is likely to have members both from the state as well as from outside the state as the Government is not limiting its search.
Asked if the panel members for the expert committee on Reservation policy are from the state or from outside the state Sangma said “We are looking at all aspects we are not closing ourselves into any specific that they should be from the state or outside the quality and qualification of the individual, the capacity of the individual i think will be the top criteria for us and then we will see off course if there has to be something balance that has to be made we will look at that aspect also .”
