Meghalaya Government will seek Centre’s support in the various Community based development activities organized in the state.

 With the Central government  launching  schemes worth ₹24,000 crore for the welfare of tribal people on the occasion of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas ,  Art and Culture Minister, Government of Meghalaya, Paul Lyngdoh said  efforts are on to get entire state Covered under Centre’s beneficial programme for tribals.

 

“As of date already three districts have been included under the Special programme launched by the Prime Minister but under the new initiative that has just been announced we will certainly make efforts to get the entire state covered,” Lyngdoh said.

“We will try to concentrate on community based developmental activities as you can see by yourself that so much that is happening all across the state. We need to sustain and support these various initiatives through Government funding for community based programme,” he added.
