The upcoming Meghalaya Games is all set to be held in Tura, the district headquarters of West Garo Hills.
Speaking to reporters, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said, “We had a full review with the deputy commissioner online and we are ontrack for the games and we are hopeful that the games will go very well.”
He informed that the review was related to many things which include the locations of the venues for games to take place and accommodation and other factors like security, water, electricity, food, materials etc.
The Chief Minister said that there are challenges in hosting the Meghalaya Games because Tura doesn’t have the necessary infrastructure to support as almost close to 4,000 people including the athletes and the officials will be attending the Games.
“But we are working on it and we are pretty sure that we are able to make the necessary arrangements in time and so this review meeting was for that,” he said.
The Chief Minister will again hold a review meeting in Tura on December 8.
