SHILLONG, FEB 22: Minister in-charge Tourism Paul Lyngdoh on Thursday informed the Assembly that Rs 1.44 crore has been generated as tax revenue from all hotels in November, 2023 during the Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival.
The comparative tax revenue figure for the earlier month of October amounts to Rs 1.36 crore, Lyngdoh said while replying to a question raised by VPP legislator from North Shillong Adelbert Nongrum.
Lyngdoh said a total of 22,991 tourists attended the festival.
The Minister said the total number of tourists in the premium category accommodation was 1269 staying in Vivanta Marriott and Ri Kynjai.
The number of tourists in mid-range hotels were 15,205, during the festival 6,517 tourists stayed in homestays and guest houses.
