Cabinet approves service rules of Meghalaya Public Service Commission

The State Cabinet on Wednesday approved the service rules of the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC).
Addressing media persons, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said the MPSC has been functional for decades but it did not have service rules for its employees.
“Hence, today in the cabinet, we have finally cleared the service rules of the MPSC,” he said.
Sangma also informed that the Cabinet also approved the amendment of the Meghalaya Medical Council Act (MMCA), 1987.
Earlier, there used to be the Medical Council of India (MCI) and in the MMCA, the word MCI was still there but as you are aware, the MCI has been changed and now it is the National Medical Commission (NMC) and that particular word had to be amended in the Act of the MMCA.
“That amendment has today been proposed through an ordinance and that was cleared today by the cabinet,” he said. HeĀ  informed that other issues taken up in the Cabinet could not be cleared as more discussion and clarity is required.
