National People’s Party (NPP) national president Conrad K Sangma on Friday said the Government of India has to examine all options and act accordingly to restore peace in violence-hit Manipur.
Speaking to media persons, Sangma said that the situation in Manipur is very complicated.
“There are many factors that are there and hence, the Government of India has to really examine all options is what i would like to say and act accordingly,” he said.
He said every decision will have its own repercussions and its own impact.
Sangma said, “Hence, how you would further handle the situation of that particular decision is something that has to be seen holistically and hence it would be very complicated to say something that this action should be taken because…whatever decision they (GOI) take that every decision has got its ramification and hence it has to be done in a very balance manner…”
“Having said that, we as a party want the Government of India to examine all possible aspects of the constitutional provisions because at the end of the day as a political party we want peace and harmony to be there, we want things back to normalcy,” he added.
He said people of Manipur no matter whichever community they belong to, are suffering.
“The common people have started suffering and there is a humanitarian kind of a crisis out there and something needs to be done to really cool down the situation and bring things back to normalcy,” he added.
