Chief Minister Level talk between Assam and Meghalaya on Border on Sept 30

​The Chief Minister Level talk between Assam and Meghalaya on Border “difference of area” will be held on 30th September, 2023 at State Guest House (Koinadora), Khanapara, Guwahati.

Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma earlier this month had an informal discussion on the border issue with Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

This meeting between the two Chief Ministers’ assume significance following the border clashes that were​ reported between the Karbi and Pnar communities at Lapangap village in West Jaintia Hills.

Amidst the prevailing tension border between Assam and Meghalaya, the matter has been taken up with the Assam government, and a joint meeting took place to discuss the border skirmishes.

The state government moved on with the border talks for resolving the remaining six areas of difference with Assam.

The remaining six areas of difference are – Khanduli & Psiar, Block I & Block II, Borduar, Langpih, Nongwah- Mawtamur & Desh Doomreah.
