Chief Minister visits Don Bosco Technical School, Shillong

Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma, today, visited Don Bosco Technical School, Shillong and distributed completion certificates and appointment letters to the passing out students.

Interacting with the students of the school Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma said, “I can see a sense of passion and a spark and a desire to do something in all of you and that is the most important aspect in life and added that the youth is a great strength to the State and the country but there is a challenge to use this work force of youth in a productive manner.”

He added that the government has in the last few years been working on a roadmap to scientifically map the skill that is required that will help in the economic growth of the state and sustain it for future.

Lauding the Don Bosco Technical School, the Chief Minister said “The number of students passing out from this technical school is higher than of all it is put together in the State and I congratulate Don Bosco Technical School for the amazing work it is doing.”

 

He also said that the government has a target of creating five lakh job opportunities in different sectors and assured that the government would partner with Don Bosco Technical School in a larger way to achieve this target.

 

“Don Bosco Technical School will be a great partner for the government of Meghalaya to compliment and supplement each other and scale up the targets and goals that we have and achieve it together,” he added.

 

Sangma also urged the technical school to upgrade and integrate their courses to keep up with changing needs and technology.

The Chief Minister also interacted with the students and answered a number of queries related to skills, employments and policies of the State government for the youth.
