Govt to announce Meghalaya State Education Commission panel in two weeks

Education minister Rakkam A Sangma said that the selection of the Meghalaya State Education Commission panel members is in the final stage and the government is likely to announce the names of the members in two weeks time.

 

Talking to Meghalaya News 24, Rakkam A Sangma stressed on need to ensure that a full-fledged commission that works and looks into all aspects of education is there.

 

“It is at the final stage and in the next two it will be announced,” the Education Minister said.

 

Sangma further said “The search committee has almost completed the exercise and once we are able to hold the final meeting we will be able to get a clearer picture.”

 

Rakkam also acknowledged that all members of the State Education Commission will be from the state of Meghalaya.

 

Notably the state cabinet in November 2023 had approved the setting up of a four-member education commission comprising one chairperson, two advisors and one secretary.

 

Meghalaya government constituted Meghalaya State Education Commission (MSEC) for coming up with concrete solutions and strategic recommendations for ushering reforms in the education system of the state.
