Chief Electoral Officer FR Kharkongor on Sunday said the main suspect in the two incidents of pre-poll violence reported under 46-Phulbari Assembly Constituency has been placed under preventive detention till the election results are out.
In a statement, Kharkongor said, “In connection with the two incidents of pre-poll violence reported under 46-Phulbari Assembly Constituency, the main suspect has been placed under preventive detention till 03.03.2023.”
As many as 47 people have been arrested till date.
He also informed, “ Further, total 47 persons have been arrested till date and 142 persons have been bound down by court u/s 107 CrPC.”
